Turncoat

Goal: have more archers than your opponent when every square is full.

• Take turns placing one archer on an empty square. You choose which way it faces: up, right, down or left.
• Your new archer shoots along the way it faces. If the first archer in that line is your opponent's, it turns coat: it becomes yours.
• A turncoat then shoots along its own line, and can win over another enemy archer, and so on. One move can flip a whole chain.
• An arrow stops at the first thing it reaches: a rock, the edge of the courtyard, or one of your own archers.
• Before you place, the board shows the line of fire and rings every archer that would switch sides.
• The last move is a big advantage, so the player who doesn't get it starts with 3 bonus points (shown in the score).

Controls

• Mouse or touch: tap an empty square, then tap one of the four arrows around it. Or press on the square and swipe the way the archer should face.
• Keyboard: arrow keys move · Enter picks the square · an arrow key aims · Enter places · Esc cancels.
